$4.75 million settlement
46-year-old machinist was rendered a T-5 paraplegic when another motorist pulled out in front of him from a private driveway. The case was complicated by a number of factors, including that the various defendants contended that the motorist was not in the course and scope of employment, that the intersection was not defectively designed, and that the motorcyclist was speeding and inattentive, since had he been traveling at the speed limit, he had sufficient time to avoid the collision. Nevertheless, we prevailed in obtaining sufficient resources for our client to satisfy his lifetime needs.
$950,000 settlement
34-year-old motorcyclist sustained fractures to his hip and leg when the metal gates on the back of a pickup truck dislodged as the motorcycle passed the truck, striking the motorcyclist causing major injuries.
$925,000 settlement
A 63-year-old gentleman lost the lower portion of his right leg when he was struck at low speed by a motorist pulling out from a side street. Available insurance was limited, but a settlement was reached in which the individual motorist contributed substantial personal money to compensate our client.
$650,000 settlement
A 21-year-old motorcyclist was traveling on a country road at almost twice the speed limit when a pickup truck turned left in front of him. The motorcyclist sustained multiple fractures to his entire right side when he was thrown hundreds of feet in the air.
